Truck Related Deaths Up

The November 14^th 2013 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report on U.S. fatalities from accidents involving large trucks shows a 3.7% increase in truck accidents over 2011. There were 3,781 fatalities in 2011 versus 3,921 in 2012.

That makes 2012 the third straight year of increases for truck-involved fatalities since they hit a low point in 2009 according to the NHTSA data.

Multivehicle truck accident deaths rose from 232 in 2011 to 273 in 2012, an increase of almost 18%. And other vehicle deaths increased from 2,713 in 2011 to 2,843 in 2012.
